Games I look forward to
Games I look forward to avatar

Since a few day’s ago, I am once again a proud owner of a Nintendo 3DS.
This means that I have to get games for it, since there is no use in a console when you’r just playing the same old games as before!

So I made a (short) list of the games I look forward to for the 3DS:

  • Monster Hunter 3G
If Capcom decides to release this game in Europe, its a must have for myself.
Ever since I got MH3 on the Wii, I have been hooked to bashing Great Jaggi and collecting materials for the many upgrades in gear.
  • Spiderman Edge of Time
Now, I never really liked Superhero games on my handhelds.
Mostly because these where always the same Metroid-ish games with ugly sprites and all that. But for the 3DS version of EoT, I`d visit the stores.
There are some interesting features to it as well, and just looks kickass.
  • And finally something involving Pokemon, Digimon or Gundams.
There is no news about these yet, but looking back to the Wii and NDS, chances are that they will come eventually.
The website “Pokemongray.com” is already coined, plans about a Gundam game are being made and canceled as they go and Digimon has 2 new TV shows which are prone to get new games as well.

However, will they be available for me, here in the EU, or do I have to resort to importing and hacking into my 3DS to get the area coding out of it?  I sure hope not.
Who knows, maybe some day Nintendo will release an update that makes importing games a more viable option, once more games hit the shelves.

Until that day comes, I`ll just play my DS games and MiiPlaza some more!

As I had a conversation with my friend about Deviantart activity, I noticed I was quickly approaching the 6,666 page-viewers mark.
Since all the cool kids where doing it, I figured to quickly throw in a contest. The person who could screenshot the 6,666 mark, would get a free drawing per request.

It turned out to be a success. A few people really got into it and finally 2 people nailed the 6,666 in a screenshot as proof that they got it.
Hereby I would like to congratulate the winners, Titan303 and Amry9 from Deviantart.
Once they fill in the request form, I’ll draw them whatever they want.

That’s the update for today!

Nintendon’t
Nintendon’t avatar

As some of you might know, 2 weeks ago I finally bought myself a shiny new Nintendo 3DS!
I must say, the machine works like a charm. The 3d screen looks nice, the depth perception is nicely adjustable and the AR software is making me anxious to finally try it out for myself.
Maybe I’m biassed, since I favor nintendo over playstation or xbox in general, but meh.
Blame Pokemon and good marketing for that!

There where only 3 downsides to it.
1) The lack of games in general
Alright, we have Mario, a carting game, raving rabbits and some puzzles. But these games just don’t appeal to me. Like mentioned before, I’m a nintendo man because of Pokemon. Lucky me, there should be one coming up sometime soon. Till then, I’ll have to sit it out with Mii plaza and my DS games.

2) The double controls
Really Nintendo, a joystick AND classic controls?
Ain’t that a bit.. Redundant?
Overkill even? I understand that with 3D levels you want to have maximum movability, but you can also use a joystick for classic controls. Or would that kill the backwards compatibility with DS games? No, because I’ve already played Pokemon Mystery Dungeon on it, with the joystick, with success.
So Nintendo, why the double controllers?

3) Nintendo 3DS sturdiness / customer service.
For some reason, when my 3DS fell out of the pocket of my jacket to the ground, a drop of about 50~70 cm, it decided to break down on me.
No external damage, no scratches visible to the naked eye, nothing broke of, etc etc.
However, something internal must have broken down, because when I leave it on for over 10 seconds, it crashes, telling me to reboot and try contacting customer service.
Which I did.
Which gave me an automatic reply tape.
Which told me to mail the 3DS back to the main office.
Which I did.
And they looked at it.
And apparently that’s all they did.
Looking at it, diagnosed it as “can’t find any problems” and mailing it back at me.
The whole process took about 3 days, and now I got my 3DS back in the mail.
I opened it, turned it on, looked at the papers that said they didn’t find anything wrong with it, frowned, looked at my 3DS, saw it crashed, sighed, turned it off and called it a day.

Tomorrow I’ll try contacting Nintendo again, this time trying to get a real person to answer me, and take it from there.
But really, how can the machine break down after dropping from that height just once, when it’s 1 week old while you could drop your gameboy color, advance, DS 1000 times over and get just a scratch?

Maybe it’s just me.

//Edit:
Called the store, they cant do anything about it.
Called Nintendo again, they asked me to send it to a specific person so he can check it out himself. Good times people, good times..

Resume & Sorting problem fix
Resume & Sorting problem fix avatar

Well, in the end the problem for the way the gallery was sorted on the Interactive page had an easy solution. As always.
Its the easy solutions that are the hardest to find..

In any case, I’ve added the resume page to the website, with more detailed information then the last one. Of course, if any questions remain, feel free to ask!

My other reason for redesigning the website was the ability to add a comic selection to this here site. However, I would first have to make a few pages for it!
Once everything works out, I`ll upload it and keep it updated once every week or so.

I`ll probably also add a tab for Ongoing projects, where you can read everything about the stuff I work on at this moment. But in order to do that, I`ll need permission from the clients.
(If there are clients).

That’t all the updates for today, time to kick back and relax!

Going interactive!
Going interactive! avatar

Well then, the Interactive page is functional.
At this moment, there are still some problems with the automatic sorting, but that’s a problem for tomorrow.  For now, everything has a timestamp and everything is online, which is priority number Uno!

I also did a small adjustment to the intro page, which some people might notice.
You can now jump directly to the old website or the new website!
Until I fully update the new website with all functionality and data of the old site, it will stay like this.

Speaking of the intro page, my brother has agreed to help me make a better intro video. This is good news, since he actually knows what he is doing! :D
But that will probably wait till somewhere next week, when we both have time to spare.

Till then, profile data!

The new look of Filecreation.com
The new look of Filecreation.com avatar

Welcome visitor, to the new Filecreation.com, presented by WordPress!

The reason for changing the website is the possibilities offered by the WordPress package, namely comment systems, Content Management Systems and all sorts of stuff that I just could not manage to create myself in PHP and SQL.

The only problem was that I had to reupload everything under the right date stamps, so I made some changes to that, which you can see once you browse through the gallery.
At this moment you can only really see the artwork page, but I plan on expanding the website some more so all the old data is restored.

Next step; fixing the Interactive page!
